Call for more consensus at well-attended Future Forests Week

Forestry needs to become more diverse in the years ahead, and landowners need help in balancing different goals. But perhaps the threat of climate change could bring together different interests in a shared approach to sustainability in this sector. These were some of the findings highlighted when the Future Forests programme summed up its research at a three-day final conference.

‘We’re now working hard to make sure that the discipline-bridging research carried out under the programme continues at a new, permanent centre for interdisciplinary forest research,’ said deputy programme director Camilla Sandström.
