Science-based environmental management in focus at international conference

When the Collaboration for Environmental Evidence (CEE) met for a conference in Stockholm on systematic review in the area of environmental management, the theme was ‘Better Evidence, Better Decisions, Better Environment’. The goal of CEE, and of Mistra EviEM which hosted the meeting, is to ensure that decisions designed to achieve a sustainable environment and conserve biodiversity rest on the best possible scientific foundation.

‘We are meeting to give researchers and decision-makers a chance to learn and to share their knowledge and experience of evidence-based environmental management,’ said Mistra EviEM’s director, Sif Johansson.

More than a hundred delegates from around fifteen countries gathered to exchange experiences and discuss ways ahead for environmental systematic review – a method of collating and scrutinising all the available knowledge on a given question in an open and transparent way.
