Researchers from several Mistra programmes talked to decision-makers

This year’s Almedalen Week in Visby was attended by representatives of Mistra Urban Futures, who talked about topics such as just cities, sustainable lifestyles, and co-creation as a way of tackling complex problems in society. The Stockholm Resilience Centre also participated in this week of political debate, contributing to discussions about climate science and wise decisions. Another programme represented was Future Forests, with a focus on forests and whether they are climate-neutral or fossil-free. Its researchers also raised issues such as new threats to forests, the role of forests in a renewable bioeconomy, and what a new forest policy could look like. Mistra Biotech and Closing the Loop were at Almedalen, too, to draw attention to their areas of work and make sure their research findings have an impact.
