Call for research programme on sustainable consumption

Mistra issued a call for proposals for a new research programme on sustainable consumption, which will explore everything from policy instruments and supply chains to individual quality of life. This is a highly topical issue, identified by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as crucial in halting climate change.

‘A great deal of research shows that, above a certain level, increased consumption doesn’t necessarily bring greater well-being. What we need to study, and understand better, are the links between sustainable consumption and quality of life,’ said Malin Lindgren, who will be overseeing the new initiative at Mistra.

The programme is expected to have a budget of SEK 50 million over four years, with Mistra providing SEK 45 million.
